Welcome to the FDF Floral Stylist and FDF Floral Arranger international training programmes. These two training and further education courses are highly qualified, integrated and recognised FDF certificate courses in Germany and include a two-day examination by a German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK examination board). The high quality standards are set by the FDF, which has an excellent reputation internationally as an educational organisation for floristry.
Training and further education to become an FDF Floral Arranger & FDF Floral Stylist
The FDF Floral Arranger training and further education programme covers all common floristry elements at a high level of technical and creative difficulty. It provides a solid foundation for a successful career.
As part of the FDF Floral Stylist training and further education programme, you will learn how to create floral pieces of the highest technical and creative standard for specific themes, occasions and spaces, as well as for marketing purposes.
Completion with certification
Upon completion of the respective FDF certificate course and passing the examination (German IHK examination board), the title of FDF Floral Arranger or FDF Floral Stylist is awarded to international professionals at an official ceremony.
Notes on certificates and titles issued outside the FDF training programme
In order to obtain the qualification ‘Florist’ (Florist/in) or ‘Certified Master Florist’ (geprüfte/r Floristmeister/in) in Germany, you must fulfil certain strictly regulated admission requirements. Only in very few cases do foreign skilled workers fulfil these requirements, e.g. mastery of the German language and several years of professional experience meeting German standards.
FDF Floral Arranger and FDF Floral Stylist are the highest quality qualifications that foreign skilled workers can obtain in Germany if they do not fulfil the admission requirements for skilled workers in Germany.
‘Certified florist in specialised practice’ (Fachpraxis geprüfte/r Floristmeister/in) or ‘master florist practical training’ (Floristmeister/in fachpraktischer Teil) does not correspond to the FDF training programme and is not equivalent to the ‘certified master florist’ (geprüfter Floristmeister/in) qualification in Germany. Only official and recognised master florists who have passed a master craftsman’s examination in Germany bear the title ‘Certified Master Florist’ (geprüfte/r Floristmeister/in).

Information on the FDF
The German Florists’ Association (FDF) is the official and only organisation representing the interests of German florists. It was founded on 18 September 1904. State associations are affiliated to FDF e. V. -Bundesverband- as independent and regional organisational units. The FDF is continually developing the floristry profession and sets the quality standards for floristry training and further education. The German Florists‘ Association also serves as an employers’ and professional association, representing the interests of florists, florist entrepreneurs and the floristry sector.
